Internships

Internships run throughout the fall, spring or summer semesters for college students. The hours are flexible to accommodate students' hectic course schedules, but generally run 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Although all internships are unpaid, students gain invaluable work experience. To apply, please complete the Congressional Internship Form.

Washington, DC

Washington interns answer phones, run errands, research legislation, attend hearings and briefings, and answer constituent letters on various issues before the House. As a result, interns learn about the legislative process and the many other functions of a congressional office.

Please note that the deadline for Summer 2016 internships in Congressman Hinojosa's Washington, DC office has passed and we are not accepting further applicants at this time.

Edinburg, Texas

Edinburg District Office interns answer phones, write letters, assist with media clips, and may assist in various constituent case work or other District-based projects. At this time, we are unable to offer internship opportunities in the northern part of the district.
