The Navajo Nation Council quarterly session got underway earlier this week. One of the first things President Russell Begaye talked about was the need for housing and health care services for the Nation’s veterans.

First District Congresswomen Ann Kirkpatrick was in Window Rock, too, and she agreed completely with president Begaye’s ideas for veterans.

FLAGSTAFF – U.S. Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, D-Ariz., is pleased to announce that her district offices have successfully resolved hundreds of constituent cases, resulting in taxpayer savings and benefits surpassing $2 million.

District caseworkers help constituents resolve problems and navigate a variety of federal issues, including veterans’ benefits, foreclosure prevention, Social Security, passports and visas. About 40 percent of the casework is centered on veterans and defense issues, with the rest distributed among Medicare, Social Security, IRS and housing.
