Real Health Care Reform

Issues: Health Care

A nation where tens of millions of Americans go without health insurance is definitely in need of real health reform. The Congressional Budget Office tells us that in 2024, more than ten years after Obamacare went into effect, there will still be 31 million Americans who don’t have coverage. That is unacceptable.

As Chairman of the Energy and Commerce, I’m working to replace a failing law with solutions that will focus on bringing the cost of health care down for America’s families. Read my op-ed about the GOP solution for health care here.

Below you will also find a memo I've written to my constituents that explains how we ended up with Obamacare, why I believe it is failing, and what we need to replace it with. I believe we can do much better than the present law.

Finally, I’d like to know what you think we should do with the Affordable Care Act. Do you think we should:

  • Fully repeal the law OR
  • Make changes to the law OR
  • Make no changes to the law OR
  • Undecided ?
