Congressman John Mica (FL07), as Chairman of the US House Subcommittee with responsibility for FEMA oversight, traveled to the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area to review federal storm disaster recovery efforts.

What he found was disappointing. More than two weeks since floods hit Louisiana, only one family had been provided a FEMA modular unit. This unit cost taxpayers more than $60,000 dollars and another $20,000 to move and set up.

With More than 123,000 forced out of their homes and tens-of-thousand without housing, there remains two thousand people in shelters, some of whom Chairman Mica met during the Oversight Committee site inspection.

Congressman Mica said, "This is a pitiful response by the federal government that I will not let stand."
