Official Greetings

I am happy to acknowledge a variety of special occasions with a greeting and to coordinate requests for greetings from the White House.

If you would like a greeting from the White House, please complete and return the presidential greeting form.

Presidential Greetings may be requested for the following special occasions:

• Birth or Adoption of a Child
• Birthday Requests
  • For the general public, 80th birthday and every year thereafter; for veterans, 70th birthday and every year thereafter.
• Retirement
  • 30 years or more in the workforce. Military retirement letter requests are processed and forwarded to the White House by their service representatives. People retiring from military service after 20-29 years automatically receive a Certificate of Appreciation from the President.
• Religious Milestone
• School Graduation
• Girl Scout Gold Award
• Eagle Scout
• Religious Leader Anniversary
  • 25 years and every 5 years thereafter
• Religious Institution Anniversary
  • 25, 50, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100 and every 5 years thereafter
• School Anniversary
  • 100 years and every 25 years thereafter
• Family Reunion
  • 25 years and every 5 years thereafter
• Serious Illness  
• Condolence
