Art Competition
Each spring the United States House of Representatives sponsors an art competition for high school students. The winning entry from Maryland’s Eighth Congressional District will be displayed in the United States Capitol alongside artwork from every congressional district across the country. The runners-up will be displayed in Congressman Van Hollen’s offices.
All high school students who reside in or attend school in the Eighth Congressional District are encouraged to participate. Entry forms need to be submitted to the Congressman’s office no later than Wednesday, February 10, 2016.
Artwork drop-off is Friday, February 26 and Saturday, February 27, 2016.
A juried exhibition of submitted artwork will be on display at Washington ArtWorks in Rockville from March 3-20, 2016
Congressman Van Hollen will host an Arts Celebration and Awards Reception at Washington ArtWorks (12276 Wilkins Avenue in Rockville) on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at 1:00 pm to honor all participants.
