Enzi Earns U.S. Chamber Spirit of Enterprise Award
U.S. Senator Mike Enzi was congratulated by Joe Theissen of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, for receiving the Chamber Spirit of Enterprise Award. The Award demonstrates Senator Enzi's "understanding that better jobs, increased productivity, and economic growth go hand in hand with the success of American business," said Donohue, President & CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. For the first session of the 105th Congress, the chamber designated 10 Senate and House votes as "key votes." Law makers who support the Chamber position on at least 70 percent of these key votes received the Spirit of Enterprise award. -
Mother of Senator Enzi Receives Mother of the Year Award for Wyoming
Dorothy Enzi, mother of Senator Mike Enzi, was recently honored as Wyoming's Mother of the Year at a ceremony held at the State Capitol. Governor Geringer and his wife, Sherri, on the left of the photo, are pictured offering their congratulations to Mrs. Enzi. -
Leadership and Courage on Behalf of the American Taxpayer Recognition
WASHINGTON, D.C: Senator Mike Enzi was presented with the 1998 Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) "Friend of the Taxpayer" award by ATR President Grover G. Norquist at a ceremony held recently in the United States Capitol.
ATR's "Friend of the Taxpayer" award is presented to the best of the best. To win the "Friend of the Taxpayer" award a congressman must score 90% or more on the ATR rating.
Some senators vote for taxpayers some of the time. The winners of the "Friend of the Taxpayer" award vote consistently for lower taxes, less government and more freedom for American taxpayers.
"I am delighted to award Senator Enzi the 1998 "FRIEND OF THE TAXPAYER AWARD" said Norquist, President of the Americans for Tax Reform. "Senator Enzi has proved to be a strong defender of taxpayers and a foe of wasteful government spending. Taxpayers have a real friend in Senator Enzi, "concluded Norquist.
Americans for Tax Reform is a 70,000 member coalition of individuals, taxpayer groups and businesses concerned with federal tax policy, spending reduction, a balanced budget amendment and restoring accountability to elected officials.

Senator Enzi Speaks at Inaugural Reception
Senator Mike Enzi spoke at the Wyoming State Society's Inaugural Reception on January 19, 2001. He was accompanied on stage by Senator Craig Thomas (R-Wyo.), Representative Barbara Cubin (R-Wyo.) and Wyoming Governor Jim Gerringer.
President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney spoke later that evening to the delight of all those in attendance. -
Enzi Receives Congressional Leadership Award
Jonathan Mayes, Vice President of Government Relations for Safeway, Inc. and Mary Lou Chapman, President of the Food Industry Association, presented U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., with a food industry award last month while in Washington, D.C. Enzi received the Congressional Leadership Award in appreciation of his work on issues of workplace safety. -
Dick Bratton Recognized for Efforts to Promote Sacajawea Dollar
Director of the U.S. Mint, Henrietta Fore, presented Dick Bratton of Gillette with a certificate of appreciation recently for his work in helping to circulate the Sacajawea dollar. The presentation took place at the U.S. Mint in Washington, D.C. Senator Enzi was also present for the ceremony.
In 1998 Senator Enzi nominated Sacajawea to appear on a coin to be issued in 2000 by the U.S. Mint. With the help of students from Kelly, Wyoming, Senator Enzi was able to turn the idea for the coin into a reality.

Enzi recognized by rural education group
Washington, D.C., May 2, 2005 - U.S. Senator Mike Enzi was recently presented with the Hero Award by Bob Mooneyham, Executive Director of the National Rural Education Association (NREA). Enzi was awarded for his outstanding work with rural education.
The NREA is the oldest established national organization of its kind in the United States. It is designed to provide guidance to rural educators to promote equal educational opportunities for rural students as well as leadership activities.

Diana Enzi recognized for humanitarian work
Washington, D.C. - June 2005 - Diana Enzi was awarded recently at the Marshall Legacy Institute's third annual awards and benefit gala to recognize outstanding leaders for their extraordinary efforts in saving and improving the lives of people and animals in war-torn, mine-contaminated countries.
Diana was awarded for her work in founding the Children Against Mines Problem (CHAMPS). She gave credit to the school children of Wyoming for being the first in the nation to participate. Wyoming kids gave enough money to provide for a life-saving, mine-sniffing dog appropriately named "Wyoming" who is now working in Sri Lanka.
Diana spoke with Queen Noor of Jordan who is also an active spokeswoman in the fight against land mines. (see left)

Enzi receives award from Gillette students
U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., was honored recently by Gillette Campus students and the American Cancer Society for his role in the passage of a bill that helps people find their way through the medical maze easier when they need help.
The bill is called the Patient Navigator bill. The Phi Theta Kappa members personally presented photos of volunteers at their local Relay For Life event along with notes to Senator Enzi to encourage his support. The photos and notes were a proactive way for the students to promote the passage of a bill that would help cancer patients by assigning a navigator to help them research medical decisions, insurance forms and the entire medical process.
Enzi spoke to representatives from the American Cancer Society as well as students from the campus and media who attended the event. Student Abby Linton and Beth Walker a student advisor, cancer survivor and American Cancer Society volunteer presented Sen. Enzi with the award.

Enzi Receives W. Stuart Symington Award
Senator Enzi and Congressman Cliff Stearns, R-Fla., (middle) are presented with the W. Stuart Symington Award by former U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff General Michael Ryan (right).
The award is given for the most outstanding civilian contributions in the field of National Security. Enzi and Stearns were recognized by the Air Force Association (AFA) for co-founding the Congressional Air Force Caucus which works to increase congressional awareness of Air Force modernization and quality of life programs.
The award was presented at a luncheon meeting with the AFA's greater Washington Chapter at the Capitol Hill Club in Washington, D.C.

Distinguished Eagle Scout Award Winner
Only the second Wyomingite to ever receive a Distinguished Eagle Scout Award, Sen. Enzi stands near his award by his former scout master, Harry Williams, in Sheridan last May. Enzi was presented his award by Willard Cook, Jr., the son of Willard Cook, Sr., the only other person to receive the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award in Wyoming. -
Enzi Receives Award for His Work to Protect American Flag
The American Legion and the Citizens Flag Alliance presented U.S. Sen. Mike Enzi with an award November 3, 2000 for his stance against flag burning.
Enzi supported an amendment to the Constitution that would prohibit desecration of the American flag. Enzi also spoke to the group about what the flag means to him and our country. -
Enzi receives ABC's Legislator of the Year Award
Senator Enzi spoke at a June meeting of the Associated Builders and Contractors in Washington, D.C. The association gave Enzi the Free Enterprise Legislator of the Year Award for his important role in bringing small business health plan legislation to the Senate floor. -
NARSAD Paul Wellstone Award
NARSAD: The World's Leading Charity Dedicated to Mental Health Research honored Senator Enzi on April 21, 2008 for his leadership in mental health awareness by awarding him the organization's Paul Wellstone award. CSAVR Distinguished Service Award
Senator Enzi was one of three senators to win the Distinguished Service Award from the Council of State Administrators of Vocational Rehabilitation this year. Jim McIntosh, Administrator of the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation in Wyoming, presented Enzi with his award at a reception at the U.S. Capitol on April 22, 2008. -
