Welcome to God's Country.

The 19th Congressional District of Texas stretches across 29 counties, including the cities of AbileneBig Spring and Lubbock, and covers over 29,000 square miles from the New Mexico border through the South Plains and across West Texas and the Big Country. The 19th District of Texas is exciting, diverse, and home to some of the friendliest people in America. You'll find vibrant city life, world-class education, friendly small towns, and incredible music and culture.

Agriculture
Texas is Cotton Country, and the 19th District produces almost one-third of all the world's cotton.  But we also produce a wide variety of other crops and agricultural products, including  peanuts, grains, beef, dairy, and even wine.  Learn more at Texas Tech's page on West Texas industry

Energy
Texas is home to much of our country's onshore oil production, and the 19th District produces a substaintial amount.  There's also growing natural gas production through the Cline Shale, and a vibrant wind energy industry. The 19th District is  home to the largest wind farm in the world and produces more wind energy than the entire state of California.

Military
Abilene is home to Dyess Air Force Base, the host of the 7th Bomb Wing and the premier operational B-1B Lancer unit in the U.S. Air Force.  In Big Spring, you can find the Hangar 25 Air Museum, which has preserved the history of pilots who fought in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. We are proud of our troops and thankful for their selfless dedication to protect the American people and our way of life.

Education
Many outstanding universities call West Texas home.  Texas Tech University and Lubbock Christian University are located in Lubbock. South Plains College has campuses in Lubbock and Levelland, Texas.  Big Spring is home to Howard College and the Southwest Collegiate Institute for the Deaf. In Abilene, you can find Abilene Christian UniversityHardin-Simmons University and McMurry University.
