It has recently come to our attention that Ms. RimaAnn Nelson, current director of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Manila, Philippines, has been named as the new director of the Phoenix VA Medical Center.

“The brave men and women of America’s armed forces continue to commit their lives to the protection of our freedoms, our families, and our nation. Now, as renewed threats rear their heads abroad, we must strengthen our pledge to our troops at home. From ensuring prompt access to care at VA hospitals, to safeguarding returning service members’ access to quality, good paying jobs. Their dedication doesn’t rest, and neither can ours.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Following the loss of six U.S. Marines in a helicopter crash on May 12, 2015 while serving a military ordered humanitarian assistance mission to the victims of the Nepal earthquake, Congressman Trent Franks (AZ-08) along with Congressman Ruben Gallego (AZ-07), Congressman Matt Salmon (AZ-05), and Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema (AZ-09) today introduced The Fallen Hero Family Assistance Act.

Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Matt Salmon (AZ-05) issued the following statement upon being notified that U.S. Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi’s case has resulted in his release from a Mexican prison.
“I am truly overjoyed to hear the news that our Marine Sgt. Tahmooressi is finally coming home to America.
