  • Bipartisan Members Of Congress Launch Bipartisan Congressional HBCU Caucus

    Representatives Alma S. Adams (D-NC-12) and Bradley Byrne (R-AL-1) today launched the Bipartisan Congressional Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Caucus. The Bipartisan Congressional HBCU Caucus’ mission is to highlight and address unique challenges that HBCUs face; and to make sure their needs are heard and recognized on Capitol Hill. The Bipartisan Congressional HBCU Caucus is an official caucus approved by the Committee on House Administration in the 114th Congress. It is co-chaired by Congresswoman Alma Adams (D-NC-12) and Congressman Bradley Byrne (R-AL-1). Congressman Bennie Thompson (D-MS-2) and Congresswoman Terri Sewell (D-AL-7) are the Vice Chairs of the caucus.
  • Congresswoman Adams Announces Satellite Office Openings Throughout North Carolina’s 12th District

    Congresswoman Alma S. Adams (NC-12) today announced the opening of six new satellite offices throughout North Carolina’s 12th District. In addition to Congresswoman Adams’ two district offices in Charlotte and Greensboro, constituents from North Carolina’s 12th Congressional District can visit either one of the six satellite offices during the days and hours they are open. Congresswoman Adams’ staff will be available to assist constituents with casework and various other services during the times the satellite offices are open. The satellite offices will open in Concord, East Spencer, Lexington, Thomasville, Winston-Salem and Highpoint.
  • Congresswoman Adams Announces House Passage of Her NDAA Amendment Which Recommends Changes to DOD’s Handling Of Service Members With PTSD

    Congresswoman Alma S. Adams (NC-12) today announced House passage of her amendment to the FY 16 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Congresswoman Adams’ amendment recognizes the impact of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) on service members and their families. It also recommends changes to the Department of Defense’s (DOD) handling of services for members with PTSD. Congresswoman Adams’ amendment passed the House on May 15, 2015.
  • Congresswoman Adams Announces Veterans Hotline

    Congresswoman Alma S. Adams (NC-12) today announced a hotline for veterans throughout North Carolina’s 12th Congressional District. The hotline features a telephone number veterans can call to receive legislative updates as well as an email address veterans can contact to request casework assistance. The hotline will be operated by Congresswoman Adams’ staff who cover veterans issues.
