GRAYSON SWORN IN TO 113TH CONGRESS

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Congressman Alan Grayson (FL-09) was sworn in today as a member of the 113th Congress.  Grayson took the Oath of Office on the House Floor, while his wife and children watched from the House Gallery.

“I am proud and honored to represent Florida’s 9th Congressional District,” Congressman Grayson stated. “I look forward to working with my colleagues in the House and Senate to promote the core principles of justice, equality and peace.”

Grayson will serve on the Foreign Affairs Committee.  House leaders will announce other committee assignments at a later date.  Grayson also has the honor of serving in a leadership position.  He will serve as a Regional Whip for Region VIII, which encompasses Florida and Georgia. The Democratic Whip organization is led by Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD).

Congressman Alan Grayson represents Florida’s 9th Congressional District, which includes Osceola County, as well as parts of Orange and Polk counties. He previously served as the U.S. Representative for Florida's 8th Congressional District in the 111th Congress.
