Pierson, U.C.F. Graduate, to Become First Female Director of S.S.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Today, Congressman Alan Grayson (FL-09) praised the President’s appointment of Julia A. Pierson to Director of the United States Secret Service.

Pierson is a University of Central Florida graduate, who served as an officer in the Orlando Police Department before joining the Secret Service as a Special Agent in Miami.

“I would like to congratulate Julia Pierson on her historic appointment as the Director of the United Stated Secret Service,” Grayson said. “She will become the first female Director of the Secret Service, which is an incredible achievement. I am proud to note that Pierson, a graduate of the University of Central Florida, began her accomplished career in our area as an officer with the Orlando Police Department. I know that Pierson will continue her record of success in this new position.”

Congressman Alan Grayson represents Florida’s 9th Congressional District, which includes Osceola County, as well as parts of Orange and Polk counties. He previously served as the U.S. Representative for Florida's 8th Congressional District in the 111th Congress.
