Senator Jeff Sessions

Page Program In Washington, DC

I am fortunate enough to sponsor high school students from across the state of Alabama to serve in the United States Senate as official pages. This opportunity allows students to experience the day-to-day legislative process and to assist Senators and staff in their official capacities.

Page duties consist primarily of delivering correspondence and legislative materials within the congressional complex. Other duties include distributing messages for Senators, preparing the Senate Chamber for sessions, and carrying bills and amendments to the desk. Every page will have an opportunity to experience all areas of service.

Pages attend class in the morning at the United States Senate Page School. The Page School coordinates with each page’s high school to confirm that he or she maintains consistency in the curriculum. AP classes are not offered; however, pages will have the opportunity to take AP tests at the end of the spring semester. Please note that summer pages do not attend class.

Pages are paid on the basis of an annual salary of $23,030. Pages live in Webster Hall, located near the Capitol. This residence is $780 per month and includes breakfast and dinner each day; these charges are deducted from the total salary.

Eligibility is limited to students who will be juniors in high school and who will be 16 or 17 years old on or before the date of appointment. For the summer sessions, students must have completed their sophomore year and will be 16 or 17 years old on or before the date of appointment. Please note that priority is given to those students who claim Alabama as their primary residence. The available paging sessions are as follows:
