2016 Flood Recovery

Welcome to the 2016 Flood Recovery page. As we continue to monitor the ongoing situation, I want to make sure you have all of the latest news and information available in one place. As I keep in close contact with local officials in the Third Congressional District, I will provide helpful resources and the latest news as it becomes available. I will continue to work with the Governor’s office, the Louisiana congressional delegation, and local officials to ensure all affected parishes receive adequate federal assistance. Currently, FEMA has issued a Major Disaster Declaration for the following parishes:

HOW TO APPLY FOR AID

You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for disaster relief through FEMA. To apply, you must have the following information available to report:

Social Security Number
Insurance Information (including flood insurance, homeowners insurance, etc.)
Damage Documentation
Total Household Income
Contact Information
Bank Information (bank name, type of account, routing & account numbers)

You may visit www.disasterassistance.gov, call 1-800-621-3362, or download the FEMA mobile app through your provider’s app store in order to apply for federal disaster assistance.
