Eligibility and Term of Office: As set forth in Article I, Section 2, of the United States Constitution, candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives must be at least 25 years old, a resident of the state they wish to represent, and a U.S. citizen for at least seven years. Members of the U.S. House of Representatives are elected every two years for a two-year term.
