The Valley Health Surgery Center Groundbreaking Ceremony took place on the outskirts of Winchester and was attended by my district staff. It is anticipated that the surgery center will begin serving residents of the Northern Shenandoah Valley in the Fall of 2017.

Recently my staff attended the America’s Disability Rights Museum on Wheels as it made one of its stops at Northrop Grumman Corporation in McLean. Northrop Grumman partnered with the U.S. Business Leadership Network to sponsor the museum. It is the first disability rights mobile museum, and it tells the story of the fight for equal rights by people with disabilities in the United States, the struggle for equality, the passage of the Americans With Disabilities Act, and the outlook of the work that still needs to be done.

At Wat Yarnna Rangsee, a Buddhist temple in Sterling where many of my Thai American constituents worship, my staff read my letter of condolences on the passing of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, which is now being transmitted to the Royal Thai Embassy. His Majesty was revered by the Thai people for his 70-year reign. I extend my sincere condolences to Her Majesty, Queen Sirikit, the Royal Family of Thailand, and the Thai people. I wish them all well as they heal the wounds of their loss, and I reaffirm the support they have in the United States.

Glad that my staff was able to attend the Tysons Rotary Club meeting to offer a legislative update and discuss the issues that matter most to our community.

Pleased to hear that elected officials along with curious and concerned members of the community came to the Eastern Market Open House to learn more about additions to the existing facility and details as to improvements in safety. Thank you to those who came out and organizers of the event for engaging the public.
