Our nation’s traditional values are at risk.  At a time when our most basic rights and values need to be upheld more than ever, they are being jeopardized by the current Majority.

As a father of four and as a doctor, I have personally witnessed the miracle of life. In my career as a physician, I have had the privilege of delivering hundreds of babies.  From a scientific perspective, it is an inarguable fact that when an egg and sperm are united, a unique member of the human species results. This human life has a unique DNA blueprint that is deserving of our protection.

I am also a strong defender of traditional marriage. Since the beginning of recorded history, and, in our own country, from the earliest days of the American colonies, marriage has been the legal union between a man and a woman.  The institution of marriage is so central to the well being of both children and our society that, until recently, it was difficult to imagine that marriage itself would need protection. Marriage as traditionally understood is an intrinsic part of our culture's Judeo-Christian moral foundations, and it must be protected and preserved.  Our essential moral values demand that we defend marriage.

At a time when our nation is faced with some of the most challenging public policy problems in its history, Americans' moral and family values are threatened.  I am committed to our nation’s traditional values and will stand in the gap to fight for what I firmly believe to be right.

Abraham Lincoln once said “Stand with anybody that stands right.  Stand with him while he is right and part with him when he goes wrong.”  I will continue to stand on the side of our nation’s traditional family values, protecting life, marriage, and our freedom to practice faith unhindered by the federal government.
