  • Sessions Demands Answers from DHS

"Last week's disturbing report from the Office of the Inspector General shined light on the failure of this Administration to effectively enforce our immigration laws. It is completely unacceptable to fraudulently grant the rights and liberties that come with a U.S. citizenship to 1,800 virtually unknown individuals. We don't know what countries they are from, we don't have any of their biometric data, and we simply don't know anything about these individuals. This Administration's glaring lack of judgment has made a mockery of our immigration system and jeopardized our national security. I will continue to push for answers and hold this Administration accountable for their irresponsible actions.

  • Sessions Works to Hold Hillary Clinton Accountable for Her Irresponsible and Lawless Actions

U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions, Chairman of the House Committee on Rules and member of House leadership, joined Congressman Tom Marino (PA-10) and thirty-four other Members of Congress in sending a letter to FBI Director James Comey pressing him to clarify reports from the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of an illegal, private email server while serving as Secretary of State.
  • Congressman Sessions Responds to the Dallas Police Shooting

During a peaceful protest in downtown Dallas, police officers who were supporting and protecting members of the community who were peacefully assembling were met with unwarranted, deliberate violence. I am deeply saddened by these events and find it disheartening to know that there are people who want to bring harm to the men and women who selflessly put their lives on the line to protect our families and communities.
  • Sessions Leads Mission to El Paso

Congressman Sessions led a mission to El Paso with four of his Republican colleagues where they met with servicemen and women from the largest Army Base in the United States, Fort Bliss, and received classified briefings from the Drug Enforcement Agency on cartel and Western Hemisphere security threats at the El Paso Intelligence Center. These briefings with both federal agencies and a private national security firm provided unique and necessary insight into the national security issues that Texans and our country face.
  • Congressman Sessions fights to stop back door amnesty

This week I went to the floor of the House to fight for passage of an amendment offered by my friend Congressman Paul Gosar from Arizona to legislation that funds our national defense. This amendment ensures that the Obama Administration cannot implement their unconstitutional executive memo expanding the “Military Accessions Vital to National Interest” program to recipients of “Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals” (DACA), in clear violation of congressional intent. The Gosar Amendment would preserve the integrity of a military pilot program that allows lawful immigrants and lawful nonimmigrants to receive citizenship for their service. It is vital that congressional intent is always protected and executed in accordance with the will of the people.

This week I proudly joined the people of Dallas in honoring our police chief, David Brown. It is with mixed emotion that Dallas says goodbye to Chief Brown after 33 years of service with the Dallas Police Department. For more than three decades, Chief Brown has devoted himself to the protection of our citizens and the betterment of our city.

When the president rolled out ObamaCare he promised the American people that they could keep their preferred doctor, stay on their current healthcare plan, and their healthcare costs would decrease. After six years of this law, we know that is simply not the case.
