Hudson Defends 40-hour Work Week
 
WASHINGTON, D.C.– Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) released the following statement after voting in support of the Save American Workers Act (H.R. 30) to repeal Obamacare’s 30-hour definition of full-time employment:  
 
“Obamacare continues to wreak havoc on our health care system, but the law’s consequences go far beyond the doctor’s office. Because of Obamacare, small businesses are stuck with the tough decision to cut employee hours to stay afloat, leaving families struggling to make ends meet with fewer hours and less take-home pay. The uncertainty and frustration that this law creates is unacceptable.
 
“This bill will provide relief by restoring the 40-hour work week, reducing Obamacare’s burden on job creators while increasing hours, wages and economic security for workers. I’m hopeful that with a Republican Senate, we will send this bill to the President’s desk - I implore him to join us in our efforts to protect wages and hours for millions of Americans. This bill will get rid of one of Obamacare’s heaviest burdens, but let’s be clear – Obamacare can’t be fixed, and I will continue to fight to repeal and replace it with quality, affordable health care that North Carolinians deserve.”
