After hearing consistently from 10th District residents about their concerns with our economy, taxes and the rising cost of healthcare, I have been fully committed to doing all that I can to effectively represent the people of the Tenth on these critical issues.

Serving on the Ways and Means Committee gives the Tenth District an even larger role in advancing solutions to some of the most pressing challenges we face, and I am grateful for the opportunity to address those challenges head on to bring positive changes to those in our community.

The Committee on Ways and Means is the oldest committee of the United States Congress, and is the chief tax-writing committee in the House of Representatives. The Committee has jurisdiction over taxes, select revenue measures, health, trade, human resources, social security, and oversight of these issues.

I serve on the Human Resources and Social Security subcommittees. Through these subcommittees, I am committed to advancing legislation that fights poverty by helping provide opportunity for those in our country who need our help the most. I also remain committed to working on a bipartisan basis on issues related to trade, healthcare, transportation, and tax reform.
