Veterans Resouces
The brave men and women who serve our country deserve our respect and gratitude. The greater Rochester area is home to approximately 70,000 veterans, about one out of every fifteen residents. Congresswoman Slaughter believes we must provide our veterans and their families with the best possible benefits and health care, especially as we welcome home veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Department of Veterans Affairs offers a variety of services to veterans and their families. These services include health benefits, education funds, as well as opportunities and helpful recommendations to start a small business.
Veterans seeking employment are encouraged to visit the new Veterans Employment Center that connects veterans to a Veterans Job Bank that includes private and public sector employment.
Additionally, the Monroe County Veterans Service Agency (VSA) is available to educate veterans and their families about their potential benefits, and assist in navigating services available in the community and from the VA. You can learn more about the VSA by visiting their website or calling (585) 753-6040.
Should you have difficulty navigating any of these resources, or what you require is not listed above, please contact John Pellito in the Rochester office at (585) 232-4850.
