Jobs and the Economy

As a U.S. Representative one of my top priorities is improving our economy and getting Americans back to work. America is suffering through rough economic times. Unemployment remains high, many homeowners are underwater on their mortgage, the value of the dollar is not what it used to be, and small businesses are shutting their doors every day because they can't keep up with the costly regulations being handed out by Washington.

I believe a free private sector is the greatest path to economic growth. Instead of spending taxpayer money on more failed stimulus plans, I fight for legislation that cuts through the bureaucratic red tape and removes the burden of unconstitutional regulations to help grow job creation and our nation’s prosperity.

Since regaining control of the House, Republicans have worked to pass legislation that will help to create jobs - not kill them. Unfortunately, Senate Democrats continue to let these bipartisan bills die in the Senate, refusing to even schedule an up-or-down vote on them. The obstructionist ways of Senate Democrats will not stop House Republicans from fighting to create jobs and improve our economy, but it has made it a tough road.
