  • Vitter Announces $16M in Coastal Restoration Funds Under RESTORE Act

    (Metairie, La.) - Today, U.S. Senator David Vitter (R-La.) announced that the Office of Gulf Coast Restoration in the Department of the Treasury will be awarding a $16,000,000 grant to the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority of Louisiana (CPRA) under the Resources and Ecosystems Sustainability, Tourist Opportunities, and Revived Economies of the Gulf Coast States Act (RESTORE Act) to aid in coastal restoration. Vitter, a senior member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee and an original co-sponsor of the RESTORE Act, championed the bill out of Committee and through the U.S. Senate.

  • Vitter Bill to Revitalize, Protect Estuaries Signed into Law

    (Washington, D.C.) - U.S. Senator David Vitter (R-La.) today announced that his bipartisan legislation reauthorizing the National Estuary Program (NEP) for the first time since 2010 has been signed into law. Vitter’s bill will provide critical funding for the Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary Program (BTNEP), which spans 4.2 million acres of wetlands in Louisiana and includes many of the state’s most diverse plants, animals and ecosystems.

  • Vitter Announces $62.4 Million for Louisiana Projects

    (Washington, D.C.) - Today, Sen. David Vitter (R-La.), Chairman of the Environment and Public Works Subcommittee on Transportation and Infrastructure, announced that several Louisiana projects received additional funds in the Army Corps of Engineers’ FY 2015 spending plan, which is a requirement of Congress in the FY 2015 Omnibus Appropriations Act.
