This morning, IRS Commissioner John Koskinen testified before the House Judiciary Committee. Bottom-line -- government officials should be held to the same standards as American taxpayers. Like if you agree.

Congressman Randy Forbes added a post from September 19 to their timeline.

The two deadliest terror attacks in the U.S. since 9/11 have occurred within the past 10 months. As more information continues to be gathered about the recent bombings in New York and New Jersey, protecting the national security of this country must remain our top priority.

Our prayers are with the victims and their loved ones in the wake of these attacks, and our gratitude to the men and women who serve as this nation’s first responders.

United States Air Force

On this day, 69 years ago, the #USAF became an official branch of the United States military. Today your American #Airmen are working hard as they continue to bring #AIRPOWER to the joint fight. #AFBday

Just like airlines and civilian aviators, the United States Air Force is going to have to install new equipment on its aircraft to comply with the new Federal Aviation Administration regulations taking effect in 2020. That can be hard to do when your budget has been cut and your aircraft are old and in constant operation.

I'm grateful to the four Air Force leaders who testified before our Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee today to talk about the challenges the Air Force faces in meeting the deadline for the FAA’s new regulations, and the impact on our pilots if we cannot upgrade their aircraft in time. As Chairman, I'm committed to working with the Air Force and the FAA to ensure that our Airmen can still fly, fight, and win after these new regulations go into effect.

Our Constitution protects freedom of religion – it doesn’t demand freedom from religion. Enjoyed addressing a group of pastors and ministry leaders from across the country this afternoon about why it is so critical that we work together to protect every American’s Constitutional right to live out their beliefs without fear of punishment from the government. Thank you to David Barton of the Wallbuilders for hosting an exceptional event.

Today, we remember those who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks against America that took place on September 11th, 2001. It was a day of national heart break and terror. But, thanks to the many brave Americans, the many first responders, firefighters, medical professionals, and unnamed heroes who rushed into danger, it was also a day of courage and sacrifice. It’s hard to believe that 15 years have passed by. High school students today will learn of 9/11 as a historic event, instead of as witnesses. But may we as a nation never forget the reminder that was seared into our collective heart and mind 15 years ago today: United We Stand. God bless the United States of America.

These words from one of America’s toughest heroes, General Douglas MacArthur, offer hope and remind us of the truth amidst the challenges we face today. Americans. Never. Quit. Our country and the ideals that it stands for are worth fighting for.

Earlier this year the House of Representatives approved legislation to overhaul Washington’s regulatory process. The ALERT Act requires federal agencies to provide detailed information about the cost and impact a proposed regulation would have on American taxpayers and businesses– before the new regulation goes into effect. Do you support the ALERT Act to hold federal agencies accountable for the regulations they impose on taxpayers and small businesses?

On #ThisDayInHistory in 1782, General George Washington created the Badge for Military Merit, now known as the Purple Heart Medal, to honor servicemembers who have been wounded or killed in action by the enemy. Today, we celebrate the men and women in the Armed Forces who have sacrificed so much for our freedom and security. Our Founders created for us a compass. Our challenges today are different, but the compass remains the same. As a nation, we may travel down different roads, and sometimes we make wrong turns. Sometimes we may find ourselves in a new place, unfamiliar territory. Sometimes we face challenges that seem impossible to surmount. But as long as we can keep our eyes fixed on the bedrock of faith and freedom that defines us as a nation, we will always find our way forward.

When I first came to Washington, I kept finding myself getting turned around while driving my car through the unfamiliar city. There are a lot of...
