What I Stand For

Washington talks a lot but says little. That's not my style. I want you to know where I stand...

Strong defense is a strong America

A weak national defense is more often an invitation to confrontation than an overture of peace. Providing for U.S. national security and protecting our men and women in uniform will continue to be my number one priority in Congress. Because if we don’t get national defense right, none of the rest of this matters.

America doesn't have a taxing problem, America has a spending problem

If we are ever going to break Washington’s spending addiction, we must stop governing by crisis, and start governing by principle. This means balancing the budget. It means not spending more than we make. And it means cutting back on waste and addressing the debt that is crippling our children’s future.

Empowering job creators -- getting Washington out of the way

Bureaucrats don’t create jobs – small businesses do. Washington needs to get out of the way and allow American entrepreneurs and small businesses to do what they do best: innovate, create jobs, grow the economy, and push our nation forward.

Family, faith, & freedom

For many Americans, our faith isn’t just something we practice, its part of who we are and party of our heritage as a nation. Every American should be free to live and work according to their beliefs without fear of punishment from the government.

The Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Land

Restoring the rule of law is one of the most important issues facing our nation. Our system of checks and balances is worth fighting for because it ensures the Constitution remains the Supreme Law of the Land. That means reining in executive overreach, aggressively seeking to limit government, and ensuring the Administration is enforcing our laws.

Our veterans are our heroes

You don’t have to look on a football field or in Hollywood to find a hero, all you have to do is look into the eyes of a veteran. They are the real American idols. Fighting to provide them with the care and support they have earned is not just a duty, it’s an honor.

Citizenship is a privilege, not a right

America is a nation of immigrants, but we are also a nation of laws. The cornerstone to any successful immigration reform must be a commitment to securing the border and enforcing the laws we already have on the books.
