As a nation, I believe we need to focus on what we agree on rather than what we disagree on. If we can just put people ahead of politics, we should all be able to find common ground and unite around a positive agenda that promotes economic growth and opportunity.

Our Solutions Roundtable Series is a series of roundtable conversations with community leaders about issues important to the Tenth District. The goal is to bring together local experts to discuss innovative solutions to some of our district's most pressing challenges. Past conversations have focused on issues such as education, transportation, animal welfare, drug abuse and caring for veterans.

Monday we held our first Veterans Advisory Board meeting. We had a passionate conversation about healthcare, training opportunities for available jobs and Lake County veteran's resources.

Today we held the first event of my Solutions Roundtable Series. Along with Mike Nerheim, we discussed ways to make anti-heroin initiatives accessible to the community and ensuring school systems have a comprehensive anti-drug program. With increased federal funding and robust local support, I am confident we can combat this epidemic.
