When I meet people I often ask them, “What’s keeping you up at night?” You ask that question to enough people and it really helps you brush away the noise of politics to get to the core of what leaders in Washington need to focus on.

To help me identify these areas, I've formed advisory boards consisting of community leaders with expertise in a wide range of issues. Here are the advisory boards that I'm currently working with:

Veterans Advisory Board

I am committed to ensuring veterans receive the best care available and are empowered to re-enter civilian life on their own terms. Our Veteran Advisory Board consists of veterans, active duty members, representatives from the Department of Veterans Affairs and HR directors from companies committed to hiring veterans. The group advises us on all issues important to veterans, including healthcare, job development and other veteran resources. To learn more about my work on behalf of veterans, click here.

Education Advisory Board

To prepare our students for the jobs of the 21st century, we must ensure our students receive a quality education that empowers them to compete in a global economy. Our Education Advisory Board consists of school administrators, officials and parents. The group advises us on improving educational opportunities for students in the Tenth District. Transportation & Infrastructure Advisory Board

Every person in the Tenth District is affected by the quality of our roads, trains and buses. The Transportation Advisory Board is charged with working toward long-term solutions to our infrastructure and transportation needs. The group consists of numerous government agencies and companies that advise us on the transportation issues facing our area. Animal Welfare Advisory Board

Animal care and safety is an important issue in the 10th District. The Animal Welfare Advisory Board consists of community leaders concerned with issues facing the animal community. The group advises us on animal safety initiatives and how we can continue our efforts to improve animal care in the Tenth District.

We are always adding new boards and looking for new people to get involved. If you'd like to get involved, want more information, or have a question, please do not hesitate to contact me.
