Our national debt poses a serious risk to America’s future. In order to maintain America’s place as a leader, we need to get serious about cutting spending and we need to start now. By passing a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution we will restore the Constitution’s limits on the growth of the federal government. I’ve long fought for a Balanced Budget Amendment and Washington needs it now more than ever.

Reducing spending, restoring the Constitution’s limits on the size of government, and balancing the federal government’s books is essential to ensuring our nation has a bright and prosperous future.

Families in Utah make the tough choices to balance their budgets every day.  Washington should do no less.  We simply cannot risk bankrupting the country and leaving a legacy of deficits and debt to our children and grandchildren.  The time is now to get our fiscal house in order and put our country back on a path of economic growth and prosperity.
