REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. —Congressman John Carney (D-DE) hosted his latest “Coffee with your Congressman” meeting today at Browseabout Books in Rehoboth.  Over 50 Delawareans attended the event, covering topics ranging from immigration and infrastructure to jobs and the economy.

“These meetings are my chance to answer questions, listen to ideas, and learn how to best represent the people of Delaware in Washington,” said Congressman Carney.  “It’s one of the most important things I do as a member of Congress, and I thank everyone who took the time to stop by.  I’m looking forward to hosting more of these meetings throughout the state.”

Congressman Carney’s visit capped off a busy weekend of events for owners Steve and Barbara Crane, which included the store’s 40th Anniversary and Independent Bookstore Day. Additionally, today marks the beginning of National Small Business Week, a chance for communities to show their appreciation by frequenting local small businesses.

“We had a tremendous time this weekend reflecting on the last forty years and making plans for the future,” said Steve Crane.  “Thank you to Congressman Carney for thinking of us for today’s meeting and recognizing the important role we try to fill in this community.”
