Legislation to increase international travel to Nevada endorsed by
Gov. Brian Sandoval, Lt. Gov. Mark Hutchison, and local business leaders

(Washington, DC) – Today, U.S. Senator Dean Heller (R-NV) announced support for his bipartisan JOLT (Jobs Originated Through Launching Travel) Act (S.209). The legislation, introduced earlier this week, streamlines and improves the visa application system for foreign tourists seeking to visit Nevada. After receiving numerous letters of support for his legislation, Senator Heller issued this statement:

“I am honored that so many Nevadans agree the JOLT Act will help welcome even more international tourists to our state and the entire nation, and I hope that their support provides helpful momentum for this important bill,” said Senator Dean Heller. “It goes without saying that tourism truly is the lifeblood of the Nevada economy, and I am grateful to Senators Schumer, Klobuchar, and Lee who have been extremely powerful advocates on this issue.”

Background:

On Tuesday, U.S. Senators Dean Heller, Charles E. Schumer (D-NY), Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), and Mike Lee (R-UT) introduced the JOLT Act. Current visa procedures make it unnecessarily difficult for tourists from many countries to visit the United States.
