Grayson says it can be a model for federal, state and local governments

Representative Alan Grayson (D-FL09) made the following statement supporting the Osceola County Commission’s passage of a Human Rights Ordinance, which the Congressman’s office helped craft and support:

“Osceola County’s leaders have struck a blow for equal rights for all by passing this Human Rights Ordinance. Everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, deserves equal access to housing, employment, and public accommodations. Osceola County is taking the lead in protecting these rights. I hope that Florida, and the federal government, will quickly follow suit. We must take a stand as elected leaders to proclaim that LGBT individuals are welcome and protected in our community, and that our local government will not tolerate any discrimination or harassment against them. I’m proud to have helped Osceola County’s progressive leaders take that stand.”
