(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Congressman Alan Grayson (FL-09) offered the following statement upon passage of the Travel Promotion, Enhancement, and Modernization Act of 2014 (H.R. 4450) this evening:
“As a Floridian and a proud member of the Congressional Travel and Tourism Caucus, I am pleased that the House of Representatives passed the Travel Promotion, Enhancement, and Modernization Act of 2014 (H.R. 4450) today. I strongly supported the travel Promotion Act of 2009 during the 111th Congress, and I remain an ardent supporter of it today. This legislation reauthorizes Brand USA, a public-private partnership that promotes tourism to the U.S.
“Florida’s economy depends heavily on the tourism industry. More than 1 million Floridians work in the industry, which generates billions of dollars for our economy. International travel is a growing market in our state, and Orlando has become one of the top tourist destinations in the country. This critical legislation will boost our national economy and have a significant impact right here in Central Florida.”
Congressman Alan Grayson represents Florida’s 9th Congressional District, which includes Osceola County, as well as parts of Orange and Polk counties. He previously served as the U.S. Representative for Florida's 8th Congressional District in the 111th Congress.
