Wildlife and Endangered Species

Our wildlife and endangered species should be handled properly and the way we treat them is an expression on the way we treat others. Unquestionably, animal cruelty is a culpable act and should not be tolerated.

We should protect our endangered species in a manner that serves the best interests of conservation. However, I believe that there is some confusion with public perception as to the validity of species placed on this list. We should give greater weight to scientists or any other field-tested study data available as a basis of determinations when adding or removing a species from the endangered species list.

Conservation initiatives should consist of an ongoing federal/state partnership of wildlife grants, habitat improvements on both public and private lands, eradication of invasive species, and protection of endangered species.

In various military districts our department of defense must utilize diverse areas of our land that lend a strategic advantage when fighting in foreign territories in the best interest of National Security. I have observed an assortment of training exercises and can confidently say that our armed servicemen are great stewards of the land and take great precautionary measures to protect our wildlife.

I welcome and appreciate all concerns and comments concerning our wildlife and endangered species and I deem that educating ourselves is the key to helping citizens and government work together to find creative solutions to our concerns.
