Dear Friends,
Each January, we take a day to remember the influential life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a man who dedicated his life to our nation’s founding principles of freedom and equality.
Next Monday, January 18th, our nation will observe the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. To honor Dr. King’s legacy, I encourage you to use this day as an opportunity to give back to your neighbors and community. Now, more than ever, we must recommit ourselves to a just America for all of its citizens. As President Obama said as he quoted Dr. King in his State of the Union address: “...optimistic that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word.”
