Small Business

Bureaucrats don’t create jobs – small businesses do. Washington needs to get out of the way and allow American entrepreneurs and small businesses to do what they do best: innovate, create jobs, grow the economy, and push our nation forward.

Repeal job-killing regulations. Before any new regulations are put in place, the federal government should be forced to analyze how each potential rule would impact small businesses (Read H.R. 185 & H.R. 527).

Cut back on the tax burden. Job creators shouldn’t have to spend hours complying with our overly complex tax code – or shouldering the cost of hiring someone to navigate the maze on their behalf.
  • Eliminate unfair loopholes and reduce the amount of bureaucratic red tape (Read S.Con.Res 11).
  • Provide tax relief for small businesses (Read H.R. 616).
  • Scrap the current tax code and start over. Our current overly complicated, bulky tax code needs to be completely scrapped, and simplified/restructured to put more money back where it belongs: in the American people’s pockets (Read H.R. 27).

Overhaul Washington’s regulatory process. Force accountability from Federal agencies by requiring Congress to vote on every new major government regulation before it can be enforced on businesses and the American people (Read H.R. 427).

Protect business from Obamacare, by:

  • Repealing and replacing Obamacare, which, according to the NFIB, represents the most expensive federal burden ever placed on small businesses (Read H.R. 596).
  • Preserving affordable health coverage for employers and employees by preserving small business group health markets and keeping employer sponsored health coverage affordable (Read H.R. 1624).
  • Maintaining the “40-hour Work Week," instead of arbitrarily reducing it to 30-hours a week (Read H.R. 30).

Rein in the NLRB, CFPB, and the IRS. These agencies are responsible for crushing small businesses with onerous and burdensome regulations (Read H.R. 683; H.R. 3459; and H.R. 1195).

Named “Guardian of Small Business” by The National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB). Awarded “Spirit of Enterprise” Award by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and named “Hero of Main Street” by the National Retail Federation.

Co-Chairman of the bi-partisan Congressional Trademark Caucus to increase Congressional awareness of counterfeit products and the risks associated to businesses that have their intellectual property stolen.
