Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Donna F. Edwards (MD-4) released the following statement congratulating recipients of the Fulbright Award from Maryland’s 4th Congressional District:

“I want to congratulate Dr. Carmen Bovell, Ms. Shannon Chiles, Ms. Kimberly Mawyer, and Ms. Jacqueline Williams on receiving the prestigious Fulbright Award. These individuals underwent a rigorous application process and were chosen among a competitive group of candidates. They have demonstrated their academic and professional achievements and proven their leadership potential in their respective fields of study.

“Through their participation in the Fulbright Program, they will help build mutual understanding between the people of the United States and others around the world. These four recipients will be carrying out psychological and educational research projects in Jamaica, Canada, Spain, and Finland.  I have no doubt that they will make both our country and our district proud.

“I wish them much success as they embark on this exciting endeavor.”
