Edwards Statement Commemorating September 11th Anniversary

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Donna F. Edwards (MD-4) released the following statement to commemorate the fifteenth anniversary of the September 11th attacks in 2001.

“We pause today to remember the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001. Among the lives lost on that horrific day were 48 Marylanders,” said Congresswoman Edwards.

“I joined my Congressional colleagues in a bipartisan House Remembrance Ceremony on the steps of the United States Capitol to pay tribute to those who were taken from us in a heinous act of terror on September 11, 2001. As we sang “God Bless America,” we also honored the courageous men and women who answered the call then and those who serve and protect our nation every day at home and abroad.

“Today, we recognize and honor victims from communities throughout Maryland, and across the country, who lost their lives fifteen years ago. I also extend my thoughts and prayers to their families and loved ones.”
