“Happy Thanksgiving! I wish you all a wonderful holiday that is a treasured tradition to be thankful for what we have, and to reach out to those in need.

“Every day, I see examples of compassion and strength here in Maryland's 4th Congressional District. It is a reminder of the spirit of the American people. Although we are facing difficult challenges, we will rise to the occasion. We will create jobs in America to compete in a 21st Century global economy, make sure everyone has access to quality healthcare and education, ensure our veterans and seniors are cared for—not ignored—and take care of our planet for future generations. This Thanksgiving, I am hopeful that as Americans, and elected leaders, we reach beyond ideology to embrace what is in the best interest of our nation.   We must put the past behind us if we are to make the necessary decisions to ensure a bright future for this country that renews the hope of achieving the American Dream.

“In addition to being a special time to share with our family and friends, it is also a time to take stock of what is important to us and to be grateful for what we have. I want to extend a special thank you to all of our service members, including those separated from their families and friends. Your courage and sacrifice to ensure our freedom is humbling and we salute you.

“I am thankful for the opportunity to serve the residents of Maryland’s 4th District, and I wish you all a very happy and safe Thanksgiving.”
