Art Competition
Each spring, a nation-wide high school arts competition is sponsored by the U.S. House of Representatives. The Artistic Discovery Contest is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent of students in our community.
The Artistic Discovery Contest is open to all high school students in the 9th District. An appointed group of individuals will serve as judges and select the winning piece. The top ten pieces of art will be displayed in the lobby of the Kissimmee City Hall from April 14 through May 2. The final winner of our district's competition will be announced on May 1, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at the Kissimmee City Commission Chambers.
The winner's piece will also be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol. The exhibit in Washington will also include artwork from other contest winners nation-wide. Southwest Airlines will donate two roundtrip tickets to the winner for travel to the national reception in Washington, D.C.
