Thank you for your interest in attending one of our nation’s service academies.

In order to be considered for an appointment to a United States service academy, each applicant must obtain a nomination from an authorized nominating source. These include the President, Vice President, U.S. Senators, and/or Congressional Representative.

To receive a nomination from our office, applicants must complete a nomination file, which includes: a completed application form, high school transcripts, ACT/SAT scores, an essay, a current photo, and three letters of recommendation. A committee, composed of service academies alumni, will review each file and schedule interviews with the top candidates. After the interviews are conducted, the committee recommends which candidates are best qualified to receive a nomination and our office submits those nominations to the respective academies.

For more details about the nomination process and additional requirements, please download our Congressional Nominations Information Packet. You can also review our page of Frequently Asked Questions.
