Stutzman Announces Fall Academy Day - September 24, 2016

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Marlin Stutzman announced his Fall Academy Day will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016. This event gives high school students and their families an overview of the military academies, application and nomination processes, and introductions to Academy liaisons.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for young Hoosiers to learn more about our terrific service academies, said Stutzman.” “Last year, I was pleased to nominate Erick Loe who started his first day at West Point military academy this past June. Along with Erick, past nominees are prepared for a career of professional excellence and courageous service to their country.”  Also nominated last year and receiving appointments were Jasmine Jackson, West Point; Luke Rose, West Point; and Cierra Germann, US Naval Academy.

Background: Each year Academy Day is held to for students who are interested in being nominated and applying to one of America’s service academies. These schools include the Air Force Academy, Merchant Marine Academy, Naval Academy, Coast Guard Academy, and West Point.

The event will be held at the Air National Guard Base, 3005 Ferguson Rd, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46809 at 10:00 a.m. with registration beginning at 9:30 a.m.
