The New Democrat Coalition released Higher Education Priorities detailing how we can ensure Americans have access to one of the most powerful tools for upward mobility. The priorities represent a set of policy ideas that can bring quality education and training programs to more Americans by making higher education more accessible and innovative. New Dems are committed to making higher education more accessible and affordable, fully preparing students for higher education and the workforce, and making higher education more effective, accountable, and inclusive.

The New Democrat Coalition's Vision for Comprehensive Immigration Reform (Drafted April 2013):
Over the last decade, it has become increasingly clear that our immigration system is broken. Members of the business community, unions, faith leaders and the American public have called on Congress to pass a comprehensive immigration reform that not only brings the estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants who live in our communities out of the shadows, but that also provides a realistic solution to stop unlawful immigration and create a fair and efficient immigration system.

Washington, DC – Today, the New Democrat Coalition released Higher Education Priorities detailing how we can ensure Americans have access to one of the most powerful tools for upward mobility. The priorities represent a set of policy ideas that can bring quality education and training programs to more Americans by making higher education more accessible and innovative.
New Dem Reps. Jared Polis (CO-02) and Ami Bera (CA-07) authored an op-ed about the need to make higher education more accessible and affordable for all Americans. They recognize education as the great equalizer and foundation of our economy and outline policies ideas to ensure success for future generations.
New Democrat Coalition Chair Ron Kind (WI-03) outlined policy solutions to address America’s changing economy. Rep. Kind highlights New Dem-led efforts to find the most innovative, effective solutions for adapting to these economic changes.
