Chairman Sessions today issued the following statement in response to Ranking Member Slaughter's announcement of the departure of Democratic Staff Director Miles Lackey:

"While we are all saddened to hear that Miles Lackey is leaving the staff of the Rules Committee, we are grateful that we have had the opportunity to work with him during his quarter-century of public service. The Rules Committee staff – on both sides of the aisle – is among the most professional found anywhere, and Miles is no exception. We will miss him and wish him well in all of his future endeavors."
