Congressman John Moolenaar

The office of Congressman John Moolenaar is accepting applications from high school seniors for nominations to the U.S. military service academies.

Congressman John Moolenaar recently presented Ronald Hnizda of Roscommon with service medals he earned for his Army service in Vietnam. Hnizda earned a Bronze Star Medal for his work in Vietnam designing a computer system to track the location of U.S. pilots.

No one likes to endure a long wait at the doctor's office and no one should to have wait three months before being allowed to contribute to their own HSA. Eliminating this unnecessary government burden promotes health savings and patient-centered care for all Native Americans.

In Michigan, we see rising costs in our grocery bills, health care and, for those with young children, the cost of child care. However, while the cost of child care is increasing, the amount of this tax benefit remains the same. So, in an email to my office, this constituent suggested that our tax code should be updated to allow the tax-free benefit to increase with the rate of inflation. Now his idea is a bill in the U.S. House of Representatives.
