Thune Votes to Repeal Obamacare, Urges the President to Put Americans First

“Five years after the law passed, Americans are struggling to afford their health care thanks to the costs the law imposed …”

WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) issued the following statement after the Senate passed legislation to repeal Obamacare:

“It’s clear that Obamacare is not working, despite the president’s best efforts to convince the American people otherwise. Five years after the law passed, Americans are struggling to afford their health care thanks to the costs the law imposed, which is why the Republican-led Congress will soon send a repeal bill to the president for his signature.

“While the president will likely veto the bill and prioritize his own legacy over the well-being of American families, this debate is far from over. Republicans will not back down from the fight to help the individuals, families, and businesses hurt by Obamacare.”
