  • Salute to Women Was a Huge Success!

    On Saturday September 12, Congressman Cook honored 24 women at his third annual "Salute to Women: Young Leaders and Mentors" event at the Apple Valley Town Conference Center. Each of the women honored have demonstrated exceptional leadership in their respective communities, especially with organizations that serve the youth.
  • Congressman Cook visits Ft. Irwin National Training Center

    Congressman Cook recently visited Ft. Irwin National Training Center to observe the U.S. Army execute complex joint training exercises with the U.S. Navy. This base has been an integral part of the United States counterinsurgency operations since September 11, 2001 and continues to be transformed to reflect the rapidly changing battlefields faced by our servicemembers. We're lucky to have it in the 8th District.
  • Good Luck to the Eighth District Military Academy Appointees as they begin their service!

    Some of our very own are heading to various United States military academies this fall! Congratulations to Brittney, Shanna, Chloe, and Andrew who were presented their official nominations and appointments. (Lydia is not pictured) Congressman Cook is proud of each of them and knows they will make our district and country proud!

WASHINGTON- Rep. Paul Cook (R- Apple Valley) and Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D- HI), introduced HR 244, the HIRE Vets Act OF 2017. This bipartisan bill, which was previously introduced last Congress, passed the House with unanimous support but was not able to pass the Senate before the end of the year.

WASHINGTON- Today, Rep. Paul Cook (R- Apple Valley) and Rep. Mark Takano (D- California), introduced HR 245, the Veterans’ Education Equity Act. This bipartisan bill fixes a discrepancy in the way the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) currently determines Post-9/11 GI Bill housing payments for student veterans that prevents some veterans from receiving a fair housing payment.
