House Reforms and Reauthorizes the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act

Washington, D.C. -Congressman Keith Rothfus [PA-12] released the following statement after voting for the Terrorism Risk Insurance Program Reauthorization Act (S.2244):

“The Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA) was enacted in the aftermath of the September 11th attacks as a temporary program to make insurance coverage for an act of terrorism more widely available,” said Rothfus.  “The reauthorization approved by the House today includes additional reforms that encourage more private sector participation in the market and better protects American taxpayers.”

S.2244 passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 417-7.
