Congressman Bachus is serving on two committees during the 113th Congress.

Congressman Bachus will continue his service on the House Financial Services Committee as Chairman Emeritus.  Bachus served a six-year leadership term as Committee Chairman (2011-2012) and Ranking Member from (2007-2010).  The Financial Services Committee deals with issues of everyday concern to Alabamians such as investor protection, the soundness of the banking system, financial regulation, housing policy, trade and monetary policy, and helping our financial markets function for the benefit of individuals who need credit and businesses that need capital to expand and create jobs.  As Chairman, Congressman Bachus is an ex officio member of all subcommittees and a voting member on the Capital Markets and Government Sponsored Enterprises Subcommittee and the Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit Subcommittee.

Congressman Bachus has rejoined the Judiciary Committee as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Regulatory Reform, Commercial, and Antitrust Law.  He also serves on the Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security, and Investigations.  The Judiciary Committee is the second oldest standing committee in the House.  Each of its subcommittees has roots in the U.S. Constitution.

Congressman Bachus also serves on a number of caucuses, including the Congressional Steel Caucus, Cement Caucus, Passenger Rail Caucus, Cancer Caucus, Autism Caucus, Alzheimer's Task Force, Biomedical Research Caucus, Immigration Reform Caucus, Pro-Life Caucus, Fire Services Caucus, Zoo and Aquarium Caucus, the Wire and Wire Products Caucus, and the Nuclear Issues Working Group.
