Trade
Congressman Brooks is in favor of fair trade practices that will help create American jobs for the future. This past year our international trade deficit was $500 billion, and the $278 billion trade imbalance with China alone has been estimated to cost almost 3 million American jobs. By supporting American manufacturing and addressing unfair trade practices, such as Chinese currency manipulation, Congressman Brooks hopes to put America back on track for future economic growth and job creation. Congressman Brooks was also named the “2011 Fighting Freshman of the Year” by the U.S. Business and Industry Council (USBIC) for his efforts to promote American job creation; USBIC represents 2,000 American manufacturers, providing more than 200,000 American jobs across 44 states.
