Congressman Joaquin Castro [D-TX] was the youngest member of Congress to address the ceremony for the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington, commemorating the 'Dream' speech delivered by Martin Luther King Jr. on the same steps at the Lincoln Memorial.
Castro was the only Texas and Latino lawmaker to speak at the ceremony. He spoke about the need of his generation to honor the struggle of civil rights pioneers by carrying on with the message of freedom, democracy, and opportunity.
